The Professional Arts students are again working with clients from the public sector on one of their creative projects. Clients this year have been confimed as: Cork City Enterprise Board, Crawford Gallery, Cork School of Music, Cork City Council and Cork City Library. Students are designing and making pieces according to a given brief that will then be on display in a public area. Two students Eli Caamano and Sandy Hyland had their work displayed at this years 'Showcase' in Dublin at the end of January.

Professional Arts in public spaces

Professional Arts Students at the Glucksman Christmas Craft Sale and the ‘Generation’ exhibition at the Crafts Council Gallery Kilkenny.


The Professional Arts Students : Brendan Corcoran, Elisenda Caamano, Conor O’Keefe and Sandy Hyland were exhibiting at the prestigious Craft Cale at the Glucksman Gallery, UCC, Cork on the weekend of the 7th of November.
Elisenda Caamano and Sandy Hyland are also showing their work as part of the exhibition ‘Generations’ that is currently being held at the Crafts Council Gallery in Kilkenny. The exhibition which features selected works from Irish Design Institute Graduate Design Awards and the Irish Arts Review/Crafts Council of Ireland Emerging Maker Award opened on Saturday the 31st of October and will run until the 10th of January 2010.

Christmas Craft Sale at CSN

The Higher Professional Arts students are organising a Christmas Craft Sale on Tuesday the 8th of December starting from 10.30 am near the main reception area.
The main focuss will be craft items in wood and textiles but ceramics items from last year’s first year students will also be included. This is a unique opportunity to purchase craft items of a new generation of emerging designer makers at compatible prices. Come early to avoid disappointment

Lets become professional
The Professional Arts Diploma will run again this year, with 1 Textile and 4 Furniture Design students, after funding has been confirmed by the Cork City Enterprise Board.After a successful year in 1007/8 with an end of year exhibition in the Rubicon Centre, CIT, the course is running again to facilitate students that are ready to prepare for self-employment.
